Yahoo is prompt out the website that matches the keywords, meta shows the information searched from the website found, subject directory shows a the string of subject that which subject u are looking into and let u choose and lead u into another page to choose the information after choosing the subject.

Yahoo search is a simple search that lead user to website, meta allows u to see which website the information is from. So as to let the user cast out the thought of unreliable websites. Subject based is not to lead the user search the topics differently to prevent to confuse the searcher. As keys words can lead to many different kinds of subjects.
